How long have you been in CBS and what brought you to the college?
I have been in my position for a little over a year now! What drew me into this position is the curious-minded and innovative students interested in the life sciences. I have the honor to work with students who have a mission to make a difference in the world through a wide range of careers in healthcare, sustainability and more.

What is something unexpected you've learned in your role?
Learning about the barriers and challenges students face when it comes to navigating mental health has been a priority. Many students come to college with outstanding academic achievements, but can struggle when they compare accomplishments with their peers. Interactions with peers can also feel overwhelming for some. Helping students to navigate these challenges and reaffirming their individual successes.

Is there a project that you're excited about?
I am a strong advocate for fostering an inclusive environment in the college and the University as a whole for students of all identities and backgrounds. A project I will focus on is how we can best serve our diverse population in terms of academic success, retention and engagement within our office.

What's something you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy problem solving with students and offering a space for them to explore ways they can achieve their academic goals, career interests and vision for their future in a timely manner. I like to think of my role as a sounding board for students while also offering guidance towards their unique individual path.
