Designed by Nature: The Power of Biomimicry

Learn the art and science of mimicking nature to solve human problems through smarter design on October 28.
July 21, 2026

Before humans ever picked up a sketchpad, nature spent billions of years perfecting its own blueprints. This is biomimicry: the art and science of mimicking nature to solve human problems through smarter design.

Join us for a unique interdisciplinary session of Future in Focus featuring Dean of the College of Design, Prasad Boradkar, and expert faculty from the College of Biological Sciences, Emilie Snell-Rood. This panel will dive into the bridge between the natural world and human ingenuity. Learn how this rapidly growing field is transforming sustainability, architecture and technology — and why nature might just be the best design mentor we’ve ever had.
