PMB fellowships and awards

Bernard and Jean Phinney Graduate Fellowship in Plant and Microbial Biology
The Phinney Fellowship is a $3,000 to $4,000 award for senior PMB graduate students conducting dissertation work that advances our understanding of molecular biology of plants and/or microbes, uses molecular approaches, or is developing new methods. Awards will be given directly to students and are intended to supplement, not replace, other funding. The call for applications goes out in March.

College funding opportunities

Bernice M. Folz Ph.D. Graduate Fellowship: Support for current graduate students pursuing Ph.D. research in the College of Biological Sciences. Awards will be given directly to students and are intended to supplement, not replace, other funding. Preference will be given to students engaged in collaborative research outside of the College of Biological Sciences and in other academic disciplines. When possible, preference may be given to students who are able to demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in biological sciences. International students are eligible to apply. The call for applications goes out in February/March. 

Carol H. and Wayne A. Pletcher Graduate Fellowship: Support for current graduate students pursuing Ph.D. research in the College of Biological Sciences. Awards will be given directly to students and are intended to supplement, not replace, other funding. International students are eligible to apply.
