
The College of Biological Sciences is pleased to request nominations for the 2024-25 CBS Faculty and Staff Awards and introduce a few new awards! Faculty and staff award recipients will be recognized at the spring CBS Faculty and Staff Recognition event scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, from 3-5 p.m.
Nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

CBS Excellence in Research and Innovation Award *NEW
This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in forefront research and innovation with emphasis on the previous three years.
CBS Rising Star in Research and Innovation Award *NEW
This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in forefront research and innovation with emphasis on work conducted at the University of Minnesota.
CBS Excellence in Graduate Student Education Award *NEW
This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate and/or professional level with emphasis on the most recent three years.
Stanley Dagley-Samuel Kirkwood Undergraduate Teaching Award
This award acknowledges exceptional faculty contributions to undergraduate education, including classroom presentation, educational innovation, and curriculum development.
John S. Anderson Leadership Award
This award was established to honor Dr. John S. Anderson upon the occasion of his retirement after 39 years of service to the University and recognizes exceptional contributions of faculty and staff to their department as well as the College.

This award recognizes outstanding staff members for performance, achievements, or scientific/technical accomplishments that are above those normally expected, are exemplary, and contribute to the success of the College.
