Dean's Scholars is a unique program designed to support CBS students in building their leadership skills and preparing to be active citizens and change makers in their chosen professions and communities after graduation. Students are invited to participate in the program based on demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to service based on the University application materials.
Through peer mentoring, coursework, service opportunities, and leadership programming, the Dean's Scholars Program focuses on three areas to help students increase their leadership capacity:
- Self-Awareness: Knowing individual values, strengths, and talents and acknowledging shortcomings.
- Critical Citizenship: Understanding systems, social issues, and personal responsibilities as an active member of a community.
- Applying Leadership: Synthesizing self-awareness and critical citizenship to serve as an active leader within various communities and professions.
In addition to the skills developed through Dean’s Scholars, the program also offers students the opportunity to participate in a smaller close-knit community to support their success in CBS.
