Each spring, the College of Biological Sciences Student Board brings together faculty, staff and students to recognize outstanding members of the college community at the Golden Pipettes. The student-driven event highlights the many ways faculty and staff contribute to the College’s education mission, from mentorship to the use of memorable metaphors. Award recipients received decorated lab coats to go along with the award. This year’s Golden Pipette winners include:

  • Outstanding Mentorship Award - Emilie Snell-Rood (Professor, Ecology, Evolution and Behavior)
  • The Crystal Clear Award - Christian Mohr (Assistant Professor, Microbiology & Immunology)
  • Most Reliable Inbox Award - Lorene Lanier (Associate Professor, Neuroscience)
  • Most Familiar Face Award - Adam Engelhardt (Education Specialist, Biology Teaching and Learning)
  • Most Inspiring Professor Award - Will Howitz (Assistant Professor, Chemistry)
  • Best Classroom Atmosphere Award - Jocelyn Richard (Associate Professor, Neuroscience)
  • Style Icon Award - Benjamin Saunders (Associate Professor, Neuroscience)
  • The High Demand Award - Elizabeth Borer (Regents Professor, Ecology, Evolution and Behavior)
  • Best Canvas Site Award - Catherine Kirkpatrick (Teaching Professor, Biology Teaching and Learning)
  • Outstanding Staff Service Award - Liz Kalinowski Ohrt (Associate Director for Advising, CBS Student Services)
