Want to donate a plant to our collection? That’s really kind of you! As you can imagine, with so many plants in the world and so many projects, our space gets limited quickly. Because of this, we prioritize potential donations based on our current needs, which do change over time. In general though, we give preference to plants that have known locations from which they were collected (or their parents were collected), those of unusual taxonomy or morphology, plants that are rare in cultivation, or have important stories to tell about their species or native ranges. We also try not to overrepresent plants of species we already have, typically do not accept hybrids, and can’t accept annual plants. If knowing all of that, you think your plant would fit in with our collection, please feel free to reach out to our director, Alex Eilts, at [email protected]. And, thanks for thinking of us!
