These collections house our plants from high in the Andes of South America, the Himalaya mountains, and those high peaks in the African Rift Zone, as well as those in the Austronesian realm. These places are equitable year-round because of their tropical latitudes and great elevations. Those conditions can also occur elsewhere, such as in places with maritime climates. These are mid-latitude regions where western winds coming off cool ocean currents both warm the winters and cool the summers. Our Cloud Forest Collections house plants from these regions as well.
