Vladimir Vladykin
Where is your hometown?
My home town is St. Petersburg, Russia. I came to the US back in 1993, originally as an exchange student. One thing led to another and after graduating from the University my wife and I decided to make Minnesota our home, eventually settling in Elk River.

What is your role in CBS? What does it entail?
In CBS I work as a Software Developer for the Research and Learning Technologies unit. I design, implement and troubleshoot software solutions for various research projects, as well as manage several databases.

What is your favorite part of your job?
The favorite part of my job is the ability to use my creative and technical skills in facing the challenges of projects at hand.

What did you do before joining CBS? What led you to this position?
Before joining CBS I worked as a Project Coordinator and later a Software Developer for Minnesota Population Center, managing one of the largest databases of individual level demographic data. There I was mostly responsible for designing the process of reformatting of the original data coming in from census bureaus all over the world.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids, occasionally escaping to a local antique show to replenish my collection of old clocks, scales, or get anything else that grabs my attention, within a budget.
