Station open house tours

A few times each summer we invite the public to tour the Itasca Station to get a close-up view of the facilities that support our research and teaching efforts. We co-lead these tours with State Park Naturalists, who share information about the history of the station and its relationship with the Park. Historic highlights on the tour include the site of the State Park House where Mary Gibbs (the first female park commissioner in North America) lived in 1903, the route of the 1920s era Jefferson Highway and one of the few 1930s National Youth Administration constructed buildings in the state.
