Acknowledgements and research products

Data management, institutional acknowledgements, and sharing products are all vital aspects of the research process. The tabs below outline the Itasca Biological Station's guidelines for creating and sharing research products resulting from work done at the station. These resources will help you meet journal and grant requirements as you begin publishing manuscripts and datasets.

Acknowledgements & Affiliations

When presenting or publishing work resulting from a project supported by IBSL, we ask that you include the station in your acknowledgements. We recommend writing a statement similar to the following:

“We thank the University of Minnesota Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories for providing logistical support.”

For projects with a larger Itasca component (e.g. a significant portion of data collection, lab/fieldwork, etc.), it may be appropriate to list the station as an institutional affiliation. Please consult with the Station Scientist at [email protected] to determine if this applies to you. Affiliated researchers at IBSL should list the station as an affiliation using the following information:

Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories, 28131 University Circle, Lake Itasca, MN 56470 USA

Research Organization Registry (ROR)

The Research Organization Registry (ROR) is a registry of openly available persistent identifiers for research organizations created with the intention of connecting research organizations to individual researchers and research products.

When publishing your dataset, please include the ROR for the Itasca Biological Station in your metadata.

Downloadable Logos

For presentations, include the IBSL logo. You can view and download the png files using the links below:

Sharing research products

Please inform the Station Scientist of publications, completed theses/dissertations, and published datasets resulting from IBSL-based work. These works will be included in the collection of Itasca-based publications and add to the station's rich history of research.
